According to the press release, the tournament will be a test for a ‘large-scale global league’ for the MMORPG, which launched on October 28th. In addition to hosting the event at its headquarters, Razer will equip players with a range of mice, keyboards, and headsets designed for esports competition.

League matches will run from December 26th until February 6th, with champions from each division earning a place at the World Championship. The winner of the event will then face off against Korea’s Legend of YMIR champion in a showmatch known as the Legend Match.

“From enthusiastic participation in the Legend of YMIR Partner Server system, to all the passion in action during Server Battles, we are heartened and honoured to have witnessed the organic growth of this community,” said Michael KimHead of Game Business Division at WEMADE.

“With Razer’s support, we look forward to empowering our best players around the world to come together and compete at the highest standards.”

Participants in league matches and the World Championship can earn up to $1m (~£739,900) of Legend of YMIR Diamonds, in-game points, and exclusive in-game items featuring exclusive bonus stats.

What is Legend of YMIR?

Legend of YMIR is an MMORPG set in the world inspired by Norse mythology. Developed using Unreal Engine 5, the game lets players create characters equipped with a variety of abilities to battle against enemies and other players.

The MMORPG features Server Battles, bi-weekly events in which clans take part in regional battles for supremacy.

In addition to regular competitive action, Legend of YMIR includes blockchain-based gameplay designed with the aim of encouraging player ownership and building a sustainable, player-driven economy. Partner servers are auctioned off, enabling players to host events and share in-game profits.
