South Korean esports organisation DN FREECS has rebranded to DN SOOPers ahead of the 2026 esports season.

The announcement aligns the organisation’s League of Legends teams with the branding of live streaming platform SOOP, which recently rebranded from AfreecaTV.

Unveiled on December 22nd, 2025, the rebrand aims to consolidate the organisation’s identity into a singular brand inspired by its owners. Alongside a new name, SOOPers also revealed a new logo that’s a slight alteration of the logo previously used while the organisation was competing under the Freecs name.

In addition to a new name and logo, DN SOOPers plans on launching a new range of esports jerseys and merchandise early next year.

DN SOOPers is a staple of the Korean League of Legends esports scene. In 2019, the organisation won the KeSPA Cup, beating SANDBOX Gaming in the Grand Final. Six years later, it finished in sixth place in 2025’s KeSPA Cup, failing to win any of its two group stage matches.

Alongside the main SOOPers roster, the organisation also fields a Challengers team and an Academy roster, which all feature the new moniker for the 2026 season.

Although DN SOOPers is primarily associated with its League of Legends operations, the organisation also competes in a range of other titles, including Tekken 8. In August, Lim ‘Ulsan‘ Soo-hoon won the Esports World Cup. Notably, three SOOPers players featured in the top eight, demonstrating the strength of its fighting game roster.

Elsewhere, the organisation secured victory at the PUBG Players Masters Invitational, the final third-person perspective (TPP) event of the year. For 2026, the battle royale title is committing to a full switch to TPP, intending to improve the viewing experience.

While esports organisations are no strangers to rebranding to reflect sponsorship deals, the rebranding to SOOPers has sparked debate among fans.
