The former captain of Astralis shared the news on November 24th, 2025, after spending five months on the sidelines after being benched by ENCE. This brought his 18-month stint on the starting lineup to an end.
Gla1ve is best known for his time representing Astralis. After signing for the Danish organisation in 2016, he went on to be part of one of Counter-Strike’s most dominant eras, winning four Majors and 16 tournaments between 2018 and 2019.
In July 2023, Gla1ve’s tenure on Astralis came to an end. In 2024, he led ENCE to the IEM Katowice 2024 playoffs, along with qualification for the Copenhagen Major. His last appearance as a player came at the Tipsport Conquest of Prague 2025, a Tier 2 event where the team finished runners-up to Fnatic.
“What a ride it has been. So many memories, so many victories, and lessons I’ll carry with me forever,” said Gla1ve on social media. I still get goosebumps thinking about the Majors, the Intel Grand Slam, and everything we built during the golden Astralis era.”
To be part of creating something that special doesn’t happen often. A huge thank you to my incredible teammates and coaches from back then – you made it some of the best years of my life.”
Gla1ve is the third member of the iconic Astralis roster to retire from competition. In 2023, Andreas ‘Xyp9x‘ Højsleth called time on his career, while 2025 saw Peter ‘Dupreeh’ Rasmussen confirm his retirement during the BLAST.tv Austin Major.
Gla1ve’s Coaching Transition
Gla1ve’s move to a coaching role follows the same path as Xyp9x, who became the assistant coach of MOUZ in 2024.
Armed with a wealth of experience in team leadership and achieving success at the highest level, Gla1ve has the opportunity to lead a new team and build a legacy in a new area of Counter-Strike esports.
