Overwatch 2 hero 45, Vendetta, is arriving in Season 20

Overwatch 2 Vendetta

Blizzard has revealed a brand new Overwatch 2 hero named Vendetta, set to arrive on December 9th with Season 20.

Also known as La Lupa, she is the daughter of Antonio Giordani, a corrupt businessman, arms smuggler and high-level player within Talon. However, she is seeking retaliation against the organisation, making her a powerful ally.

Vendetta hails from Italy and appears to be a tank hero who uses a sword to deal damage and also block incoming attacks, as shown in the trailer. She was denied her inheritance, leading her to fight in the Colosseo arena, growing stronger with every victory.

“Beyond the arena, whispers of Vendetta’s past proliferate, hinting at a history that ties her legacy directly to the original Overwatch conflict against Talon,” the official press release stated.

“Having carved out her place among the arena’s elite, she cuts down enemies with ruthless, regal precision. Beneath the surface, her ambitions run deeper. Each gladiatorial victory is a calculated step towards something greater.”

Blizzard hasn’t announced her abilities; however, fans can catch a glimpse of them in the trailer, where she blocks bullets with her blade.

Vendetta is the third hero arriving in Overwatch 2 in 2025, following Freja and Wuyang in April and August, respectively. The hero roster will be at 45 once she arrives.

Players will be able to try her out for a limited time from November 26th to December 1st, ahead of her official release in Season 20.

Vendetta’s Impact on Overwatch 2 Meta

Since Vendetta’s abilities have not been revealed, it is hard to predict how she will shake up the Overwatch 2 meta.

However, based on the trailer, her aggressive playstyle will fit right into the current meta, which emphasises dive heroes with a lot of mobility. Most team compositions feature tanks that soak up damage while getting right in the enemies’ faces (think Zarya and Wrecking Ball) which seems to be Vendetta’s MO.

Vendetta likely won’t change up the game’s meta or playstyle too much, which could be frustrating for Overwatch 2 players that are growing tired of dive – and the same tank heroes dominating in ranked. She could actually become a mainstay, depending on how disruptive her kit ends up being.
