Astralis Advances
After opening its IEM Chengdu campaign with a victory over NAVI, Astralis looked to keep its momentum going against The MongolZ.
A back-and-forth Nuke went in favour of the Danish side, with Emil ‘Magisk’ Reif continuing to excel with two crucial clutches on attack and defence.
Inferno was another hotly contested map, with the Astralis attack making the difference in the second half to secure a 13-8 win and a 2-0 sweep.
With playoffs secured, Astralis takes on Team Falcons in the upper bracket final to determine which team begins their playoff run in the semifinals.
NAVI Crashes Out

Following a narrow 2-1 defeat to Astralis in its opening Group A match, NAVI looked to stay alive in the lower bracket with a victory over HEROIC.
A strong attacking display in the second half of Nuke was enough to secure a 13-8 win, putting NAVI on the verge of advancing to the next round.
HEROIC responded with a 13-8 win of its own on Ancient, with a dominant offensive strategy proving the difference in the second half.
The third and final map on Inferno was another close contest. Similar to Ancient, HEROIC’s attack made the difference, winning seven rounds in the second half to secure a 13-8 win and a 2-1 series victory, sending NAVI out of the tournament.
Elsewhere in Group A, paiN Gaming kept its playoff hopes alive with a 2-0 victory over TYLOO.
Team Falcons Bests Team Spirit
Team Falcons and Team Spirit headlined day two of IEM Chengdu 2025, with two of the world’s best teams battling it out to secure a playoff place at the earliest opportunity.
Falcons’ Dust II defence shone through in map one, scoring a comfortable 13-6 win to kick off the series.
Team Spirit looked to bounce back on Ancient, ending the first half with a 9-3 advantage thanks to the firepower of Dmitriy ‘sh1ro‘ Sokolov, who managed to halt any offensive play from Team Falcons.
Despite the healthy first-half lead, Team Falcons managed to reduce the deficit and force overtime. Ilya ‘m0NESY’ Osipov‘s precise AWPing kept the momentum in favour of Team Falcons, racing to a 16-13 win to earn its place in the playoffs.
The Saudi Arabian organisation will face Astralis in the upper bracket final of Group A.
In the lower bracket, the Chinese side of Lynn Vision Gaming continued its run with a surprise 2-1 victory over 3DMAX.
