The show match will begin after LTA North Split 3 matches, which actually features a compeittive clash between both Team Liquid and Cloud9.

The split itself runs from July 26th to September 7th, 2025, and sees the top eight teams compete for a qualification spot to both the LTA Championships and the 2025 World Championship.

Cloud9 and Team Liquid’s Performances

Both teams have experienced highs and lows in the League of Legends 2025 scene so far.

In the LTA, Team Liquid placed fourth in Split one back in January, qualifying for the Cross Conference where it won against 100 Thieves and successfully progressed to the First Stand tournament. However, against international foes, Team Liquid came up short and was the first team to be eliminated.

With Split two, Team Liquid came fourth once again, but did not qualify for either the Esports World Cup (EWC) or the Mid-Season Invitational (MSI).

Cloud9 has also seen ups and downs, but had high hopes after securing a partnership with car brand Kia America, entering as Cloud9 Kia.

The organisation began Split One strong, placing second overall after losing to 100 Thieves. It then came fourth in the Cross Conference after losing to Team Liquid 2-1 in the Semi-Finals. In the second split, Cloud-9 was one of two teams that qualified for the EWC event, but just missed out on MSI to FlyQuest. During EWC, Cloud9 was one of the first to be eliminated, placing 11th and winning $50,000.

In the third split, Cloud9 Kia has shown strong performance so far, currently topping the Pick and Play Phase as of this writing. It has defeated both LYON and Dignitas 2-0, and is scheduled to take on Team Liquid in round three.
