Esports organisations Alliance and Fnatic have teased an Apex Legends-focused esports collaboration.
The collaboration will take place on January 14th, 2026 in Sapporo Japan, just before the ALGS Year 5 Championship begins.

Both organisations announced the partnership on January 12th, 2026 through social media, though details for what to expect from the collaboration were not shared.
It is important to note that both Alliance and Fnatic will be competing in the ALGS Championship 2026. Alliance qualified as the winner of the EMEA Split 2 Pro League, and Fnatic’s Japanese trio placed within the top 30 teams of the ALGS 2025/2026 rankings.
Alliance and Fnatic are not the only organisations to have teamed up ahead of the Apex Legends crowning event. Recently, North American organisation 100 Thieves revealed that it was partnering with Japanese organisation Crazy Raccoons. However, in this case, that was to form a new team, Crazy Thieves.
It is also not uncommon for rival teams to work together in a collaborative project during a major esports tournament. For example, back in October 2025, FlyQuest ran a charity campaign with T1 during the League of Legends World Championships.
What is the ALGS Championship?
The 2026 ALGS Championship is the crowning event of Year 5, concluding another season of competitive Apex Legends.
The top 40 teams from across the regions compete for a $2m (~£1.48m) prize pool, with the champion earning $600,000 (~£447,240) in winnings.
From January 15th to 18th, teams will compete across three stages: Group Stage, Bracket Stage, and the Finals. The Group Stage will see teams seeded into groups of 10, and will compete in a round-robin format.
The results of the Group Stage will determine the winner and loser brackets. After a series of matches, the top 20 (10 from each bracket) squads will place in the Finals.
The Finals will utilise the Match Point format, where the first team to win after reaching 50 points will be crowned this season’s champion.
