German esports organisation Unicorns of Love has announced a crowdfunding campaign offering up to 11% of the company. The campaign will run on the Crowdcube platform, with early access registration now open and the funding round set to begin in the coming days.
In a public statement, the organisation said the decision marks a new phase in its growth. Leadership emphasized a community driven approach, inviting supporters to take an ownership stake and participate directly in the organisation’s future. The campaign represents the first time Unicorns of Love has opened equity to the public.
The organisation has not yet disclosed a fundraising target or company valuation. Further details are expected once the Crowdcube round officially opens.
Founded in 2014, Unicorns of Love built its reputation through League of Legends. The team earned promotion to the EU LCS in its first year and later finished second in the Spring splits of 2015 and 2017. Although not selected for the LEC franchise in 2019, the organisation remained active in the competitive ecosystem.
Unicorns of Love competed in the LCL through 2021 and later focused on the German scene. Achievements include qualification for the League of Legends World Championship in 2019, 2020, and 2021, along with Prime League titles in Summer 2022, Spring 2023, and Summer 2024.
Beyond League of Legends, the organisation previously fielded teams in Counter Strike 2, Wild Rift, PUBG Mobile, and VALORANT.
Crowdfunding has emerged as an alternative funding route within esports. In 2020, UK based organisation Fnatic raised £1.7m through Crowdcube from 3,450 investors. More recently, Sentinels raised close to $200,000 from 110 investors through a StartEngine campaign in 2024.
The Unicorns of Love crowdfunding round positions the organisation among a small group of esports teams using public investment to support long term development.
Summary
Unicorns of Love has announced a Crowdcube crowdfunding campaign offering up to 11% equity in the organisation. The initiative opens ownership to the community as the German esports brand enters a new phase of growth.
