Indonesian esports organisation Rex Regum Qeon (RRQ) has announced that it will be competing in Apex Legends again for the first time in six years.
The organisation has welcomed three new players who will compete in the Apex Legends Global Series (ALGS) Year 5 Championship in Sapporo, Japan.

RRQ has returned to the battle royale game by signing Las Vegas Inferno’s roster, a team that placed as the runner-up of the ALGS 2025 Last Chance Qualifier for APAC South.
These are all of the Apex Legends players that have joined RRQ:
- Komkrit ‘Noelsang‘ Malaihom
- Supakorn ‘mosu‘ Kaewpang
- Panupong ‘sato_kohai‘ Prasertphongkun – Captain
The team will be coached by Jasper ‘yanlys‘ Xiang, who previously worked for teams JD Gaming and XNY in the ALGS APAC South scene. Additionally, Alexis ‘zona‘ joins the group as the Apex Legends analyst.
RRQ last competed in Apex Legends back in 2019 after signing a trio of players on March 19th. However, the organisation disbanded the group and left the scene only six months later.
The scene has changed drastically since RRQ last competed in Apex Legends, and the trio will face off against 39 of the best teams across the regions from January 15th to 18th, 2026. Only time will tell whether RRQ will be crowned this season’s ALGS Champion.
RRQ Heads to the ALGS Championship
The ALGS Championship is highly anticipated by Apex Legends fans around the world due to being the crowning event of the esports circuit.
The 2026 edition of the tournament marks the end of Year 5, a season where teams have competed in various qualifiers, Challenger Series and Pro Leagues to reach the world championship.
40 of the best teams from across the regions, from Alliance in EMEA to Shopify Rebellion in the Americas, will play for the lion’s share of a $2m (~£1.48m) prize pool.
Three stages will encompass the offline tournament in Sapporo, Japan. The championship kicks off with the Group Stage, featuring four groups of ten teams. The format includes a single six-match series groups will compete against one another. The results from the first stage will determine the winners and losers of the Bracket Stage.
The final 20 teams (10 from each bracket) will move on to the Finals on January 18th, 2026. It is here that the tournament will shift to a single Match Point format series. The ALGS Year 5 Champion will be crowned after a squad reaches the 50-point threshold and secures a first-place win.
