The MDI Global Finals saw eight mythic+ teams play in the last major showdown of The War Within Season 3. The competition featured a Keystone Pushing format, where the team with the highest keys pushed within a set time limit scores the most points.

These are all of the teams that competed in the MDI Global Finals:

  • Missed Count
  • Team Liquid
  • HOLY Method
  • Mandatory
  • Identity
  • Anticlockwise
  • Interrupt
  • Scaffolding

What Happened at MDI?

Missed Count was up against tough competition, including the Race to World’s First winners, Team Liquid. Throughout the competition, the South American organisation would prove to be Missed Count’s greatest challenge.

Here is a full breakdown of the MDI Global Finals:

  • Ara-Kara, City of Echoes: Team Liquid (28:22)
  • Halls of Atonement: Missed Count (30:54)
  • Priory of the Sacred Flame: Team Liquid (32:24)
  • Operation Floodgate: Team Liquid (32:24)
  • Tazavesh, Streets of Wonder: Missed Count (31:51)
  • Tazavesh, So’leah’s Gambit: Missed Count (27:46)

In terms of points, it was a three-way tie between Missed Count, Team Liquid, and HOLY Method with 137 each. However, Missed Count claimed the win with a total time of 3:03:23, 7.9 seconds faster than Team Liquid’s 3:03:31 across all six dungeons.

One of Missed Count’s players, ‘Kiratank‘, said: “Big shout out to every team this MDI, was very very hard tournament and every team did crazy job.”

This victory lies in stark contrast to the MDI Global Finals for the War Within Season 2, where Missed Count placed third out of eight teams in the competition.
