As a part of the collaboration, developers will be able to publish Unity games in the battle royale title. In return, Unreal developers are expected to have more options to manage their products.

This includes digital catalogues, payment providers, web shops, and more across PC, mobile and web.

“We’re excited to partner with Epic Games to create more opportunities for game developers around the world. Choice and open systems create growth for everyone in the gaming ecosystem,” said Matt Bromberg, President and CEO of Unity

Moreover, starting early next year, Unity developers will be able to monetise their games better by controlling the pricing, promotions and live operations within Unreal Engine itself.

Commenting on the partnership, Tim Sweeney, Founder and CEO of Epic Games, said: “Just like the early days of the web, we believe that companies need to work together in order to build the open metaverse in a way that’s interoperable and fair.

“Working alongside Unity we’re helping developers build fun games, reach bigger audiences, and find success.”

Epic Games and Unity will release additional details about the partnership in 2026.

Fortnite x F1 is the Next Big Collaboration

The next major collaboration in Fortnite is the F1 Cosmetic Team Set. Featuring all 10 Formula 1 teams, the collaboration is coming to Fortnite on November 20th, and will include themed outfits, gliders, and pickaxes ahead of the 2025 Las Vegas Grand Prix.

Although the pricing has not been revealed, players will be able to purchase the items from the Item Shop using V-Bucks.
