“I sh*t on them every single time,” G2 valyn on getting revenge against T1 at VALORANT Champions Paris

VALORANT Champions Paris G2 sends T1 home

Earlier this week, G2 Esports secured its spot in the VALORANT Champions 2025 Playoffs. However, to do so, it had to take down a team that caused the VCT Americas champions international heartbreak in Thailand, T1.

“This was an emotional game for me,” said G2 Esports’ IGL Jacob ‘valyn’ Batio after successfully avenging the Masters Bangkok Grand Final loss against T1 by eliminating the team from VALORANT Champions in Paris.

The American side crushed the Korean team in the lower bracket to win the series by 2-0 and qualify for the Playoffs.

valyn was the MVP of the match, as he recorded an ACS of 246 and a 1.28 rating. Speaking about his dominant performance against T1 in the post-match press conference, he said: “I just didn’t want to go in with any respect for these guys.

“They are great players, they are a great team, but internally I wanted to be that guy who didn’t care and actually disrespect them, and I peaked them every chance I got and I sh*t on them every single time I got.”

G2 Esports looked confident right from the start, securing a 4-0 lead on Lotus. Despite T1’s attempts to fight back in the second half, G2 closed out the map at 13-9 scoreline with ease.

A similar storyline followed on the second map, Corrode, as G2 secured an 8-4 lead in the first half before wrapping up the game at 13-8.

When asked about the game plan, valyn shared that the team did nothing out of the ordinary, and it was G2’s confidence and resilience that helped the roster achieve a 2-0 victory.

“I don’t think it was crazy calling,” he stated. “If anything, I think we just had some reads and went with them. It wasn’t that complicated, and the boys were just feeling confident, and we didn’t let the round losses actually get to us.”

G2 Esports to Face Masters Toronto Champions in Playoffs

Paper Rex, the Masters Toronto and Pacific Stage 2 champions, will be the first challenge G2 Esports face in the Playoffs on September 25th. This will be the second meeting between the two teams this season, with PRX defeating G2 by 2-0 in the previous clash.

While G2 Esports has finally built momentum after dropping its opening series at VALORANT Champions Paris, Paper Rex has been unstoppable so far. The battle between both teams will be one of the spiciest clashes of the Playoffs, and fans will be able to catch the action live on VCT’s official Twitch and YouTube channels.
