The French esports organisation entered the CDL in December 2024 after acquiring the slot previously owned by Kroenke Sports & Entertainment, the owners of the Los Angeles Rams NFL franchise.

Following the removal of Los Angeles from its social media, it’s currently unclear where the franchise is planning to relocate to. The organisation’s headquarters is based in Paris, a location that has previously featured in the CDL as part of a franchise previously operated by c0ntact Gaming.

A potential relocation follows the trend of other CDL franchises choosing to move ahead of the new season. The franchise formerly known as the Las Vegas Falcons has already relocated to Riyadh, while recently discovered trademarks seemingly tease Atlanta FaZe’s move to Las Vegas, Nevada.

Can Gentle Mates Compete In The CDL?

Since entering the CDL for the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 season, Los Angeles Guerrillas M8 struggled to compete against the more established sides. A top-eight placement at 2025’s Major 4 is the franchise’s best result so far.

During the off-season, the franchise has undergone significant roster changes, with Matthew ‘KiSMET‘ Tinsley being the sole remaining player on its starting lineup. The franchise is yet to reveal its new players ahead of the Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 season.

With Black Ops 7 introducing a wealth of new mechanics for players to master, next season acts as an excellent opportunity for Gentle Mates to stamp its identity onto the franchise.

In July, it appointed former Team WaR coach William ‘Veohz’ Lachance as the Head of the project, where he led the team to a top-12 finish at the Esports World Cup.
