MOONTON has unveiled the slot allocation for the 22 teams set to compete in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang’s (MLBB) M7 World Championship.
The M7 World Championship is set to take place in January 2026, with Indonesia returning as host for the second time.

Just like last year, M7 will feature a wildcard stage and the main event. In the wildcard stage, emerging regions will be given a chance to compete for two spots in the M7 World Championship main event.
Wildcard Stage Slot Allocation
Eight regions, each with one slot, will compete in the Wildcard stage. This includes Vietnam, China, Eastern Europe & Central Asia (EECA), Middle East & North Africa (MENA), Turkey, Mongolia, Japan and Mekong.
Most notably, Japan has received a slot at the M World Championship after five editions. This comes as the region also competed in the MLBB Mid-Season Cup (MSC) in Riyadh.
Additionally, this time, two teams from the Wildcard will move on to the main event, up from just one at M6.
M7 World Championship Main Event Slot Allocation
The main event will feature 16 teams competing for the title of world champions and a share of the $1m prize pool.
The 16 slots are as follows:
- Two slots: Indonesia, Phillipines, Malaysia
- One slot: Myanmar, China, EECA, MENA, Turkey, LATAM, Singapore, Cambiodia
Interestingly, North America hasn’t been allocated a slot in the main event or the wildcard stage.
This omission comes after the North America Challenger Tournament (NACT) has been scaled down in recent editions and follows the controversy surrounding the North American representatives at the MSC 2025. The winners of the NACT 2025 Spring, BTK (acquired by S8UL), were disqualified from the tournament at the Esports World Cup.
This was because two of the team’s members, Jang ‘Hoon’ Seong-hun and Michael ‘MobaZane’ Cosgun, had competed in an event of MLBB’s rival MOBA title, Honor of Kings. Subsequently, the team announced it was jumping ship to Honor of Kings, with MobaZane even competing in a showmatch at the Honor of Kings World Cup 2025.
The NACT has been scaled down since 2024’s Spring edition, which featured a $25,600 (~£18,900) prize pool and an offline grand final. The Fall edition was moved completely online, while the NACT Spring 2025 featured only diamonds as a prize pool.
SEA Games 2025 pushes M7 to January
The M World Championship, last year held in December, has seen its seventh edition pushed to January as the SEA Games takes place in December.
The SEA Games 2025, happening in Thailand, marks the third time esports has been included as a medal event in the biennial event.
Per the tentative schedule, esports which includes Arena of Valor, MLBB, Free Fire, and EA Sports FC Online, will happen from December 13th to 19th. MLBB will have separate tournaments for male and female players.
