Team Heretics qualifies for VALORANT Champions 2025

Team Heretics VALORANT Champions 2025

Team Heretics has secured the third VCT EMEA slot at VALORANT Champions 2025 as Team Liquid advances to the Stage 2 Grand Final.

Despite being eliminated early in the Playoffs, Heretics has qualified for the season-ending tournament thanks to its 14 VCT Points.

Team Heretics has been among the top-performing teams in the EMEA VCT circuit, reaching second and third place during this year’s Kickoff and Stage 1, respectively.

Although the Spanish organisation has yet to claim an international VCT trophy, Heretics have had promising runs on the global VALORANT stages of the past. The squad finished second at Masters Shanghai 2024 and narrowly lost the Champions trophy in the same year to its Chinese competitor, EDward Gaming.

Following its victory at the 2025 Esports World Cup, however, Heretics lost both its Group Stage matches at Masters Toronto, resulting in its early elimination from the tournament.

Heading into the final regional showdown of this year’s VCT season, Heretics initially looked reinvigorated. Heretics was the only EMEA team to advance to the Playoffs with a perfect 5-0 match score. Yet the team’s curse struck again, as Heretics lost two consecutive games against BBL Esports (0-2) and NAVI (0-2).

Team Heretics Nearly Misses VALORANT Champions 2025

With the chance to make Champs with a second or first place Stage 2 result gone, the Spanish organisation could only qualify via VCT EMEA Points.

Interestingly, Team Liquid is the only remaining Playoffs contestant that has already earned the minimum of points required for Champs qualification. While Fnatic was the first EMEA squad to qualify via VCT Points, it has also suffered playoff elimination.

As a result, Heretics’ fate was in the hands of Liquid, who had to win one series to secure a spot in the Stage 2 Grand Final and qualify for Champs not via points.

Liquid did not disappoint. The dark horse of EMEA defeated BBL 2-1 in last week’s Upper Bracket Final, granting Heretics another shot at an international VCT trophy. BBL will next face the winner of GIANTX versus NAVI to fight for its spot in the Grand Final later today, August 31st.

Heretics fans will have to wait until VALORANT Champions, taking place in Paris from September 12th until October 5th, to witness their team’s next VCT appearance.
