VCT China Stage 2 was the final regional competition in the 2025 VALORANT esports calendar. Running from July 7th until August 24th, the event saw 12 teams compete for one of the four regional slots at the season-ending VALORANT Champions tournament.

The top two teams in Stage 2 directly qualified for Champions, while two additional rosters that ended the season among the top two on the VCT China Points leaderboard also advanced to Paris.

Interestingly, all four Chinese representatives were locked in after the Lower Bracket Quarterfinals, when XLG Esports knocked out All Gamers, the only Playoffs contestant that could not make it to Champions through points alone.

Among the qualifying teams are both Ascension squads, XLG and DRG, as well as the 2024 Champions winner, EDward Gaming (EDG) and Stage 2 champion BLG.

Bilibili Gaming’s Race to VCT China Stage 2 Champions

BLG has consistently ranked among the top VCT China teams throughout 2025, starting with a third-place finish at the Kickoff competition. During Stage 1, the roster achieved second place to qualify for Masters Toronto in June, though it was eliminated early.

For the regional showdown of the year; however, the Chinese squad rose to the occassion. Bilibili Gaming was the best-performing team in Group Alpha, losing only one of its Group Stage matches to Trace Esports (1-2).

While the team first continued strong in the Playoffs by defeating TYLOO 2-1, BLG was later sent to the lower bracket during its first encounter with DRG (1-2). To reach the final and have a shot at revenge against DRG, BLG secured a 3-1 victory over EDG in the Lower Bracket Final.

Yesterday’s Grand Final at Chongqing Science Hall featured a best-of-five (BO5) rematch between BLG and DRG. The Ascension rookies dominated on the first map, Lotus, with a score of 13-2. However, BLG made a decisive comeback afterwards, securing Haven (13-8), Corrode (13-10) and Lotus (13-9).

The roster’s duelist player, Wang ‘whz’ Haozhe, was crowned Grand Finals MVP, achieving a 222 average combat score (ACS) and 146 average damage per round (ADR).

With this victory, BLG has become the second team to snatch a VCT China trophy from EDG, who had been the undefeated regional champion until XLG’s Stage 1 win earlier this year.

The Grand Finals ceremony also featured a VALORANT Mobile showmatch, a pre-show concert, and attendance from Riot Games’ Global Head of VALORANT Esports, Leo Faria, and Head of VALORANT Studios, Anna Donlon.

Later that evening, a drone show featuring 5,000 drones lit up Chongqing’s sky in celebration of VALORANT’s second anniversary in China, the release of VALORANT Mobile and the VCT China Stage 2 Playoffs.

BLG is now heading to Champions Paris, taking place from September 12th until October 5th.
