Fragadelphia has expanded the number of teams competing at its upcoming Fragadelphia x The Block 2 CS2 LAN event from 32 to 48.
The decision follows the tournament organiser revealing that team tickets for the North American event had sold out in under three minutes.

Following concerns surrounding the lack of North American representation at the event taking place in Philadelphia, the organiser has expanded the tournament. As a result, the expansion gives more teams opportunities to purchase a ticket and compete at the final LAN before invites to the StarLadder Budapest Major are distributed.
“We’ve been tossin’ and turnin’ in bed after reading your concerns about NA not being properly represented at Blocktoberfest,” said Fragadelphia on social media. “So you know what? We’re expanding to 48!”
With more teams attending the event, the start date for the event has been moved a day earlier. Instead of matches starting on October 3rd, they’ll begin on October 2nd, with the event concluding on October 5th, one day before the Major invite cut-offs.
Tickets for Fragadelphia x The Block 2 go on sale at 6 pm EST (11 pm BST) on August 14th. The timing of the ticket sale aims to give North American sides the best chance of securing a ticket.
The Importance Of Fragadelphia
Thanks to its place in the CS2 calendar, Fragadelphia x The Block 2 has attracted several European teams looking to cement a place in the top 32 of the Valve Regional Standings (VRS).
With LAN matches having more value than online matches, the likes of Fnatic and Ninjas in Pyjamas are heading stateside for one final opportunity to earn VRS points in a bid to qualify for the second Major of 2025.
For North American teams, the European invasion of the event gives sides a chance to compete against established organisations, which could provide those stateside with greater competitive opportunities.
