FunPlus Phoenix (FPX) has issued an indefinite suspension to its League of Legends jungler, Cai ‘Milkyway‘ Zi-Jun.
The decision comes after the Chinese esports organisation received a report claiming that the player violated the rules of the League of Legends Pro League (LPL).

According to screenshots posted on Weibo, Milkyway allegedly disclosed confidential information surrounding the draft process while competing for his former team, Royal Never Give Up, during the 2024 Demacia Cup.
Royal Never Give Up was one of 20 teams participating in the tournament and failed to win any of its matches in the group stage.
As a result, individuals were reportedly able to place bets on which Champions would be used in the upcoming matches
“On the evening of August 11th, 2025, the club received a report alleging that player Cai Zi-Jun had violated regulations during the 2024 Demacia Cup. We took this matter seriously and immediately suspended all of his matches and training. We reported the matter to the league that evening and are fully cooperating with the investigation,” a statement from FunPlus Phoenix read.
“We do not tolerate malicious rumours and will not tolerate any violations or illegal behaviour by anyone. FPX Esports Club firmly resists any form of unfair competitive behaviour and works with the league to protect a fair, just and healthy esports environment.”
LPL’s Ongoing Investigation
This isn’t the first instance of an FPX player being involved in a potential misconduct. In 2021, Zhou ‘Bo’ Yang-Bo was suspended for alleged match-fixing, resulting in the player leaving the team to join the LEC.
The LPL has yet to provide its findings from the ongoing investigation; however, FPX has removed Milkyway from all of its team activities while a decision is being made.
If allegations of leaking drafts during the event are proven, he would be considered involved in betting manipulation, an offence the LPL has previously punished with lifetime bans.
