According to notable Call of Duty leaker TheGhostOfHope, Black Ops 7 will release worldwide on November 14th, 2025. The date is approximately three weeks later than the release date of Black Ops 6, which launched on October 25th, 2024.
A November release isn’t unusual for Call of Duty. In previous years, the annual release has launched in the first week of November and the second half of October. November 14th would make Black Ops 7 the latest Call of Duty title, beating Black Ops Cold War‘s launch by a day.
Aside from its name, little is known about the seventh entry into the Black Ops sub-franchise. The title will feature an ‘evolution of Omnimovement,’ but will not feature advanced movement mechanics such as jet packs and wall running. Black Ops 7 is a sequel to Black Ops 2, so fans can likely expect some similar storylines and weapons.
“If you’re a fan of Black Ops 2, especially if you’re a fan of Black Ops 2 competitive, you’re going to have a good time with Black Ops 7,” said Lawrence Metten, Associate Design Director at Treyarch.
How Will It Impact Esports?
If Black Ops 7 releases in mid-November, the next Call of Duty League (CDL) season is unlikely to begin in late 2025, meaning the Call of Duty esports circuit will resume next year.
Previous seasons of the franchise league have begun before the first post-launch update has gone live, allowing players to compete from the earliest moment, alongside providing fans with a chance to see the best in the world get to grips with the latest release.
Since the 2025 CDL Championship ended, the CDL has yet to provide any details surrounding the 2026 season.
