The report reveals the player was in involved in allegedly pouring boiling water over the victim in addition to causing serious injuries with a hammer. The suspects reportedly threatened the victim to pay them more money, totalling approximately ¥2m (~£10,014).

CAG Osaka has yet to comment on the situation. However, the Japanese organisation has announced it has withdrawn from the Stage 1 APAC North Playoffs set to take place on July 20th, 2025.

“We regret to inform you that we will be withdrawing from the Asia Pacific League 2025 Stage 1 APAC North Playoffs scheduled for this weekend,” read a statement.

What’s Next For CAG Osaka?

Following BlackRay’s arrest and subsequent departure from the organisation, it’s unclear what the future holds for CAG Osaka’s Rainbow Six roster.

As a result of withdrawing from the Stage 1 Playoffs, the team is unable to compete for a chance to earn a place at the Esports World Cup and earn any SI Points that determine which teams qualify for the Six Invitational, Rainbow Six’s biggest esports tournament.

The team began the 2025 season on the front foot, scoring a second-place finish at RE:L0:AD 2025 in May.
