BLAST has unveiled changes to the seeding and wagering format ahead of BLAST Bounty Season 2. As a result of the changes from the event organiser, teams competing will keep hold of their initial seeding from the start of the tournament.

The initial seeding will be maintained throughout the tournament, starting with the online phase on August 5th. The change means teams that secure a victory over a higher-ranked opponent will keep their seeding.

For BLAST Bounty Season 2, teams will have the ability to place wagers against each other, giving them a chance to earn additional cash towards their total prize money. The lower seed in a match will suggest the first wagered amount, which doesn’t have to be equal.

When two teams participate in wagers, the amount won by the winning team is now deposited directly into the bank instead of being added to the bounty. BLAST stated the change was made due to wording within the rules deterring teams from wagering higher amounts.

The final change to the tournament will see teams earning money for each victory scored. Starting with Season 2, teams will earn $2,500 (~£1,867) from their bounty total. Any teams with a bounty less than $2,500 will win their total bounty.
