Patch 25.14 marks the first big update for the post-Mid-Season Invitational 2025 stretch, setting the stage for the long road to Worlds.
After the tight, balanced MSI meta, Patch 25.14 brings a wider shake-up meant to shape the opening weeks of Summer Splits worldwide. While the only League of Legends competition currently running is the Esports World Cup — which is played on Patch 25.13 — this patch will define the meta for most major league’s summer starts.

While MSI’s patch focused on cleaning up outliers for an entertaining international event, Patch 25.14 incentivises pros to explore new flex picks and revive old comfort champions. Bruisers and fighters remain a priority for Riot, but Patch 25.14 brings in adjustments that should push them away from one-shot builds and back toward sustained skirmishing.
At the same time, mages like Azir and Ziggs receive buffs that aim to bring back traditional scaling mid lanes.
But expect bot lane to get extra attention as well starting from the next patch. With the introduction of Yunara, League’s latest ADC, bot lane could become even more focused on hyper-scaling carries, with teams investing heavily in protecting her to reach her late-game power spikes. Meanwhile, buffs to Blade of the Ruined King and Kraken Slayer open the door for more on-hit carries in place of pure crit rushers.
Keeping focus on the bot lane, tank supports like Braum and Guardian rune users are nerfed slightly, but tweaks to AP scaling on items like Rod of Ages and Haunting Guise should open up fresh opportunities for enchanters.
Junglers too may see a shift toward more flexible picks, with scaling AP champions poised to shake up the current engage-heavy meta.
Patch 25.14 “Ain’t Ready For Us”: Major Kled Rework
Finally, Kled is getting the rework that many top laners have been waiting for. Over time, Kled’s builds drifted into pure damage and assassin territory, leaving his unique remounting playstyle underused.
Patch 25.14 pulls him back to his bruiser identity — tougher, scrappier and built for extended skirmishes rather than one-shotting squishy targets. With tankier stats while dismounted and better incentives to keep brawling, Kled should feel more rewarding to play around in longer trades.
This overhaul could make Kled a real wildcard in pro play again. By strengthening his durability and consistency, he’s now a better fit for coordinated teamfights and split-push strategies. Top laners who master his new timing windows — like refunding W cooldowns with smart trades and remounting reliably in big fights — could turn him into a reliable disruptor pick.
He’s no longer all-in or nothing; instead, teams can flex him as an aggressive frontliner who thrives in messy, drawn-out skirmishes.
Patch 25.14 is the first real glimpse at how teams will shape their rosters and champion pools for the long march to Worlds. The stage is set for new picks, flex surprises, and the first hints of which squads are ready to claim their Worlds ticket this Summer.
